The Board of Directors of Coastal Health Alliance (CHA) is pleased to announce their selection of Steven P. Siegel to be the organization's next Executive Director. Mr. Siegel is currently Executive Director of Uncompahgre Medical Center in Norwood, Colorado. He was selected from a field of strong candidates participating in an orderly search process conducted over a five month period.
Coastal Health Alliance is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) based in West Marin, and operates primary care medical clinics in Pt. Reyes Station, Bolinas, and Stinson Beach. Siegel will join CHA in March of this year. He succeeds Rafael Gomez in the Executive Director position.
CHA Board President Diane Wara, MD, commented in a letter to the Board and staff of CHA:
"Steve comes to us from a rural community in Colorado with demographics similar to our own. He has 5 years experience as the ED of a small FQHC in southwest Colorado, Uncompahgre Medical Center. While in that position, he successfully added psychology and dental services to the FQHC resources. Steve is a successful grant writer (government and private) and fund raiser. He has been a long term active resident in his community and developed and managed a local non-profit. Steve and his wife plan to live in West Marin and look forward to becoming fully engaged with our communities."
Rafael Gomez, the departing ED, will continue to serve until March and will support the leadership transition. His successful tenure with CHA leaves the organization in a solid financial position, with streamlined operations and expanded services.
The executive search process was conducted with the assistance of Byron Johnson of Compass Point Nonprofit services.
